So yesterday was election day. Our dearest daughter had been planning all week on voting in kindergarten. She was rambling on and on about voting for John McCain, and we were pretty impressed at how the teachers at her school had educated a five year old on the election process, and who John McCain and Barack Obama are. She told me in no uncertain terms that she had decided to vote for John McCain because she thought he was better. Please be aware, this was decided before dearest mommy and daddy even knew she was learning about it, and we didn't influence at all!
fast forward to yesterday. On the way to school to drop her off, we talked about the election, and she told me again, "Daddy, I'm voting today, for John McCain". Ok... Fast forward a little more, end of day. I come home from work. "hey baby, did you vote today?" "yes, daddy... (giggle giggle giggle). I voted for Barack Obama, i forgot that other guys name." she thought it was pretty funny, and frankly so did mommy and I. she proceeded to tell me about the kindergarten election process (they even registered). how they voted. and, finally, that John McCain won the election in her class. EVERY kid except two voted McCain, our little dear was one of the two that voted Obama.
Funny. Funnier when you realize that we have her in a private christian school. As you may guess, a private christian school might tend to lean a little bit to the conservative side. so let me ask this - do you think the teacher made note of those two little kids who apparently are growing up corrupt voting for the democrat???
i thought it was pretty funny.
