A man and his tools...

Today was a day. not a bad day. just a day. church this morning was good, but i only found myself engaging in worship off and on. not sure why, just wasn't "there" today. Usually not a problem at our church - i find myself very engaged in worship most sundays, but not today...

fast forward to home - the kids were atrocious today. just terrible. the young lady expressed her individualism and attitude and refused to nap, ended up waking up the boy from his nap WAY to early, so crankiness all around (bled right up to mommy and daddy, unfortunately). being patient as a parent is something that requires the hand of god, i know that, and maybe my disengagement this morning in church contributed to the shorter tempers at home... all things are related!

so the "man and his tools" - see, i've build up a nice little batch of tools to choose from - today i managed to use a few of them to build the pieces of a new wooden walkway for mom's cottage. it was my first "real" use of the framing nailer. by "real", i mean it's the first time i've used it to do more than nail a few pieces of scrap wood together in the basement while giggling and saying "heh heh, thats cool"... so i sawed down the 2x6s into the right sizes (with my circular saw, which by the way i have decided i need a more powerful one), and nailed 'em together feeling the power. i finished two six foot decks in less time than i would have ever guessed. LOVE IT. oh, and i made my PVC flagpole for tailgating - came out pretty cool, actually. i'll post some pictures after the first Bills game it gets flown at!

'nuff said. have a good night.
