Well, we're whole again! Both kids have had their vacations with Grandma and Grandpa, and are back home and happy. It's good to have them back - i for one missed having both of my little ones hanging around. That being said, there was something pretty nice about having one-on-one daddy time with each of them. Lesson learned: make time to spend with each one individually. i definitely have been deficient at that recently.
The little guy and i did a lot of "Manly Stuff" when ma and big sister were away - manly stuff including shopping manly stores and a great mountain bike ride at Gifford Pinchot State Park (AWESOME). He had a blast, and it's some of the best bonding-time we've had in recent memory.
So, off he goes to grandma and grandpa's, and home comes sis. Sadly, i had to go to work monday and tuesday, but she and mommy got some good one-on-one time, clothes shopping and getting a real honest-to-goodness pedicure together. Good memories for the girls, but before the boy came home i felt a need to get in some quality time with my baby girl. We tried to do a bike ride, but her helmet was still at grandmas house, and Safety First says no bike riding without helmets. So PLAN B... off we went to a place about 20 minutes away that has mini golf, go karts and lots of games. We played a rousing round of mini golf on the "Castle Course" (we BOTH got hole-in-one's!!!), then spent a few dollars on games inside (she's getting really good at skee-ball, for a four year old). Total investment: $10. Memories: Priceless.
so now life is back to normal, but already thinking of how we can top "Daddy Time" with each of 'em so we can keep building up that bank of memories... Ideas are welcomed!!!
